Buxton International Festival Roadshow

This year, I will be part of the Buxton International Roadshow. Please find more info about the roadshow below.

Stars more used to singing in the world’s leading opera houses will be performing in a village hall near you, as Buxton International Festival hits the road!

The BIF Roadshow is the perfect place to dip your toe in opera, music and books in a friendly, fun and welcoming atmosphere.

Our bite-sized, hour long performance will include musicians from the Northern Chamber Orchestra accompanying young operatic stars of the future from the Royal Northern College of Music. Together, they’ll present favourites from our 2019 programme including Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animals, a gorgeous selection of arias, and we’ll even have a right knees-up as we play the Can-Can from Orpheus in the Underworld.

Set against the beautiful backdrop of the Peak District, there’s so much more to Buxton International Festival with guided town walks, cooking demonstrations, books, music and jazz.

So join us this March as we travel the length and breadth of Derbyshire to bring you a flavour of our summer festival, which runs from 5 – 21 July 2019.

The BIF Roadshow will stop at

"Sarah Foubert and Hazel McBain offered stage presence as well as vocal fireworks as the two Schauspieldirektor sopranos: nicely contrasted, yet able to come together when necessary" - Boulezian

"While showing an excellent penchant for comic timing ... [Sarah Helena Foubert] delivers a strong vocal performance ... with a firm and striking tone" - musicOMH

"Her rich, imperious voice never sounds shrill, and she duets expertly with Hazel McBain as the younger diva, the two of them harmonising perfectly on some very knotty and very high runs" - The Stage

Madame Herz with PopUp Opera

Madame Herz with PopUp Opera

Sarah will be performing the role of Madame Herz in the PopUp Opera production of Der Schauspieldirektor which is part of their new Mozart Double Bill. It’s a double cast production, so be sure to double check the cast list if you’re keen to see Sarah sing in this brilliantly written Mozart opera about a pair of actresses battling out which one of them is the prima donna

Donna Anna with Opera Loki

Keep an eye on this website and the Opera Loki website for more info!

Les Cartes d'Amour 2013

Les Cartes d'Amour 2013

Les Cartes d'Amour was an initiative organized by Hans Vercauteren, Aina Callaert and me in 2013 after the success we had with the Verdi Project in 2012. We managed to secure the same group of people, which consisted mostly of students or alumni of the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp.

For two nights only, we’re going to transport you back in time to the halcyon days of the Big Band era, taking in classic standards such as Too Darn Hot, On the Street Where You Live and What is This Thing Called Love. For this journey through the music of the 30s, 40s and 50s, we’ll be guided by Mike Hall and the RNCM Big Band who for this exciting collaboration, will be joined by students from our School of Vocal Studies and Opera to bring these stunning songs to life.
